Planning Permission Granted
We are delighted to announce that our plans to deliver a high-quality Health, Fitness and Well-Being facility to South Swindon will become a reality, after Swindon Borough Councils’ Planning Officers granted the consent under delegated powers.
It comes after the local community, including the Parish Council, backed the plans with a significant show of support both at the public consultation and throughout the planning application process.
At the heart of our plans for the new facility is the new National Centre of Excellence for squash which will also see the refurbishment of the existing squash courts at the nearby Croft Sports Centre. Now that we have the green light from the Council we will be progressing the detailed design work and anticipate enabling works to start on site later this year.
Brian Brock, Executive Director of Broome Manor Club Ltd, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted with the Council’s decision to give us the green light to start delivering the premium Health and Fitness facility that Swindon deserves. Today is a momentous day for us. Our team, which has been formed from within the local community, have worked tirelessly to produce plans that really can be delivered and we’re excited get the redevelopment work underway, hopefully by the end of this year. Our plans for the Broome Manor Club are part of the wider development of the site and we look forward to working with the Golf Club and other partners at this exciting time for the local area.”
